Sorry we have gone bit quiet for awhile.
gozgozgozgoz has gone into massive midlife crisis, bleached his hair blonde, and is now looking for fast women and bare legal cars and generally travelling and disappearing into his batcave. occasionally when he remembers that he is not a rock star and comes crashing down to earth and we drag him away from his toys, he is running a little not-so-secret project of his, dragging in Shu of mummyicancook into his devious road to world domination (one can dream). (Shu, who’s article on RICE, by the way has been featured in New York Times Diner’s Journal today! WE ARE SO DARN PROUD OF HER!)
Lately we have been doing a lotta representing and making waves for Singapore (in a good way. Not in a grades for sex scandal kinda way) so here’s a quick round up of the plusixfive universe so far to assure / annoy you that we are unfortunately still alive and kicking and ready to spam your inboxes:
(1) Featured in Singapore News (MyPaper)!
We were interviewed last week and featured in the daily free morning Singapore newspaper (think Metro in London) on Singaporean food overseas! Yowzaa! We are lovin’ it! (even though they got goz’s name wrong)
(2) CHAMPIONS OF THE BATTLE OF THE BAK KUT TEH (#BakKutTehOff) AGAINST MALAYSIA!
We said it before and we will say it again. Singapore Bak Kut Teh is better than Malaysia’s.
Last Sunday, we represented Singapore and fought a long hard tense battle against WildSerai as we dished out 50 bowls each of Malaysian BKT and Singapore BKT.
The public came and the public voted.
It was a very very tense moment when the results was announce but we are happy to announce that:
*flashflashflash* SINGAPORE won BOTH the people’s choice (where people voted with bowls) AND the amount of money raised for ActionAgainstHunger! *flashflashflash*
(thanks to the lovely sponsors http://momowich.com/, http://shop.waiyeehong.com/ and to all at Pop Up Singapore House for giving us the opportunity to finally confirm what everyone knew all along. SINGAPORE BKT IS BETTER THAN MALAYSIA. DUH.)
(incidentally, everyone should go check out the Pop Up Singapore House. There are some fabulous art works and laser light installations on display. AND there will be an AWESOME and crazy theatrical dinner on 31 August HUNGRY GHOST FESTIVAL by the TwoHungryGirls and Platform65. THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED.)
